BAS Services Schiel (BASSS) is a spin-off originating in the Bavarian Archive for Speech Signals (BAS) located at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

Our core business is focussed on the production, validation and evaluation of language resources (LR), such as speech corpora, pronunciation dictionaries, language models, acoustical models etc.

Other fields of our expertise are: large scale speech and video corpora annotation, field recordings under realistic conditions, fully automatic annotation and segmentation of speech, web-based recruitment and speech recording.

BASSS also provides consulting and lecturing to scientific and commercial institutions about all topics in speech technology: speech recognition, speech synthesis, speaker verification, general phonetics, forensic phonetics, dialog systems etc.

BASSS cooperates closely with the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München but is no part of the university.
